By now, all the schools are back in session, and with the actual raindrops that fell on Humboldt last week, talk of an early Fall and wet Winter are in the air… Events are slowing with the late summer lull, but if you’re feeling like getting out there, we still have lots to do!

2P – Meet leader Paul Johnson at the Interpretive Center on south G street for a 90-min walk focusing on Marsh history, wastewater treatment and birds. Masks required.
BEAUTY FOR ASHES (A TRIBUTE FOR HEROES)

Sunday, 9/12, 10A-12N – Arcata Plaza – Register in advance for this walk, which is a journey of remembrance, hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. It unites our community and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which mental illness and suicide have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about. Join our Dune Ecosystem Restoration Team (DERT) in removing non-native, invasive plants from our coastal dunes environments in order to make room for more natural diversity.
