AT HOME IN HUMBOLDT
WEEKLY EVENTS NEWSLETTER
Mother’s Day weekend is here and there is color all around – particularly in those iconic orange flowers known as ‘The California Poppy’. This is the official state flower and they can be a real spectacle… with billowing mounds of lacey blue-green foliage that are bountifully capped with vibrant colored satin flowers. These flowers are a sweet reminder that a Humboldt County Summer is right around the corner, as they abundantly line our roads, gardens and walking trails alike.
Interested in learning about more native flowers and plants? Grab Mom and head down to the College of the Redwoods campus this weekend for the Humboldt Botanical Garden native plant sale, and take a walk while you’re there… this garden is popping!
