1:45-4:45P Pop-up kindergarten vaccinations clinic (your child must be up-to-date with school vaccinations to register for school. Walk-ins welcome or call (707) 268-2108 to make an appointment. Please bring vaccination cards). Fun kid’s activities, lots of freebies like books, veggie starts, raffle. Info on community resources, college access. Blood pressure screenings and health info, Zumba, COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters available. Free food for those that participate, while food lasts. Organized by Humboldt County DHHS, Loleta Community Resource Center, Loleta Elementary, LatinoNet, and College of the Redwoods. . In Honor of Cesar Chavez Day.

6P-12A All proceeds benefit bringing music into the lives of youth. Featuring the “Burning Alpacas,” a band composed of Everyday People-sponsored youth musicians who all received their instruments via scholarships from our programs. The event will feature and art show by TSUMNU Music by: ● The Burning Alpacas (Everyday People Sponsored Youth Band) ● Checkered Past Ska ● MC Radioactive ● JuDrum ● Lion Issachar ● Hip Hop Congress ● Red Hot Shame ● Clay Adams. 8-10:30P When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood. Fridays and Saturdays 8-10:30P Sundays 2-4:30. Continues through 5/7.

AAUW – HUMBOLDT MEETING ON EARTHQUAKES AND TSUNAMIS
9:30A Did you feel the earthquake? Are you ready for the next one? Dr. Lori Dengler, Professor Emeritus Cal Poly Humboldt and local earthquake expert, will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of the Humboldt Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Dr. Dengler’s expertise is in geophysics, earthquake and tsunami hazards, and hazard reduction. Time for Q&A from the audience is included with the program.
9:45A Now in its 22nd year, volunteers in wacky costumes jump into the bay to raise money for the Redwood Discovery Museum. Parade, then plunging. Free for the public to watch.
10A-5P Check out what Humboldt artists and crafters have been creating all winter and find a great Easter or Mother’s Day gift. Food available for purchase. Also happening 10-3 on 4/2.
11A-3P Find great deals on secondhand outdoor gear at the Get Outside Gear Sale at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center! What is outdoor gear? Camping and backpacking equipment, kayaks and canoes, surfboards, bikes, hiking boots, and so much more! The sale will be open to Friends of the Dunes members from 11A. to noon, and to everyone from noon to 3P. The Get Outside Gear Sale supports Friends of the Dunes’ education and stewardship programs, provides the community with excellent deals on outdoor gear, and encourages buying used, which is great for the environment!

11A & 3P These humorous, musical, poignant and tender-hearted stories yield emotional responses in children, enhancing their learning experience. This free puppet show is at the Arcata Library. Also happening later in the day, at 3P at the Fortuna Library.
11A-3P Join the Natural History Museum of Cal Poly Humboldt for a Discovery Day of Exploring Science. This family friendly event is great for all ages. Take a closer look at subjects in the natural world, such as geology, marine biology and zoology. Get hands-on with live reptiles, amphibians, and chinchillas, interactive tables and science activities. Participate in a scavenger hunt, and play games. Make connections during this exciting exploration of education.
5P-9:30P It happening! Dandar’s is hosting a Game Night at the Redwood Lodge located at Redwood Park in Arcata! Free Entry! We will be selling snacks and raffle tickets on site (cash). QUEER YOUTH EVENT – RAINBOW VILLAGE
10:30A-4:30P Community-building, mental-health wellness education, and advocacy training all in one event! Special event just for queer-identified youth ages 11-14. Middle school is hard enough, support queer youth with accurate and affirming activities. Or donate to event to help cover costs. Some scholarships available! Please inquire! 12-3:30P Flex-start PDGA sanctioned disc golf league. $10.00 buy-in. 6 week series (3/26-4/30/23) every Sunday 12-3:30pm. Play in any or all of the weeks. All PDGA divisions available. EEL RIVER ARUNDO ERADICATION PROJECT – VIRTUAL OUTREACH EVENT
12-1P This April, join us in our efforts to locate the highly invasive plant, Arundo donax (“Arundo” or “Giant Reed”) in the Eel River watershed. We will be hosting a virtual event where we will discuss what non-native invasive species are and how they threaten our native ecosystems, as well as details about what Arundo is, its most identifiable characteristics, and why we are removing it. Our guest speakers include, Cal Poly Humboldt’s Associate Professor of Applied Ecology, Kerry M. Byrne, Ph.D. and California State Parks North Coast Redwoods District’s Invasive Species Program lead, Michelle Forys will be guest speaking.
