With a heavy heart….
This is to announce that we will no longer be providing the weekly events newsletter to our community.
The newsletter was born during the pandemic era, in hopes to generate community, provide people with opportunities to re-integrate into our local happenings and support local businesses during a tough time.
Now that we are more-or-less back to life as we knew it pre-pandemic, the amount of weekly events is just too much too offer as a free service, and while I am deeply grateful for those of you who opted-in to the Patreon to help support this page, less than .005% of our subscribers have felt it was worth donating $3/month, while about 60% of you regularly open and read the email.
There are thousands of you receiving this newsletter weekly, and we have put thousands of dollars into it’s creation and promotion, so it’s a loss for everyone, but as a free, ad-free offering, it’s simply not sustainable.
Thank you to everyone who has sent positive messages of thanks and gratitude -that has helped to keep this effort going for some time!
There will be some format shifting, and the website will continue to offer a massive amount of community resources, including the existing pages with Ongoing Events, Classes/Workshops, Kid’s Resources, Volunteer opportunities and more.
Coming soon, we’ll be launching a Restaurant Guide, list of Local Hikes & Beaches and Community Organizations page – so you’ll always be able to find things to do on athomeinhumboldt.com. We hope you’ll find continued value in these static pages as an ongoing resource, and you will receive an email with details and links in the coming months.
If you DID sign up for our Patreon, we’ll be sending you a refund, and thank you for your SUPPORT!
