Ferndale is hosting a costume parade for pets on Saturday, so for those of you that fancy a pet, you’re in luck! After that, you can find your way to multiple craft sales and community-wide extravaganzas for the bargain hunter in you! And… if you really want to keep the party going, head on down to Old Town Eureka for another busy Arts! Alive.

FRIDAY JUNE 3RD
AMERICAN INDIAN CAREER PATHWAYS FAIR (YUROK)
9A-2P, The Fair will have a large host of vendors from various Yurok Tribes departments, many jobs will allow on site applications so please be sure to bring copies of your resume. For more information contact Yurok Human Resources or Tribal Employment Rights Office at 707-482-1350

HEALY SENIOR CENTER WEEKEND-LONG ANNUAL YARD SALE
10A-6P, Join the Healy Senior Center for a weekend of bargains and fun at the Redway School baseball fields. Their excellent kitchen staff will be serving food at the yard sale. Donations will be accepted during the two days before the yard sale. 456 Briceland-Thorn Road, Redway
FIRST-HOUNDS OF HUMBOLDT
3-7P, A fun day of dogs, beer, food and vendors. The first 10 dogs who show up in a costume will receive a gourmet dog biscuit, a bandana, and the owner gets a free beer. Mad River Brewing Company & Tap Room in Blue Lake!
NORTHCOAST OPEN-STUDIO ANNUAL TOUR (WEEK ONE)
6-9P, North Coast Open Studios is an annual countywide community art event where artists open their creative spaces to the public, showcasing both finished pieces and works in progress. There is no fee to visit any artist’s studio. Please check out the official website here to get the map and plan your very own local art tour. ( …it’s going down next weekend too!)
FORTUNA FIRST FRIDAYS
6-9P, Businesses will be open on Main Street featuring community organizations and artists! The special guests of June’s First Friday will be the Fortuna Volunteer Volunteer Department and the Fortuna VFW! The event will also be hosting music by The Melange! Fortuna’s First Fridays will have Music, Food, Art, and Fun! We hope to see you there! Exclusive art feature from Fortuna’s very own multi-talented fiber artist String & Hearts. See you there!

10:30-11:30A, Meet other pet fanatics at Ferndale Main Street where costumed pets parade down Main Street to Firemen’s Park for prizes in many categories
NATIONAL TRAILS DAY CELEBRATION
11A-3P, Participate in a Trail Treasure Hunt, share what trails mean to you, or sign up for a mailing list and be eligible to enter a drawing for a $50 gift certificate from Pacific Outfitters. There will be light refreshments, information on local trails, bike maps to share, and other ways to access and get involved with supporting our local trails. Meet at Hikshari Trail, and as always – dress in layers and bring water!
HUMBOLDT CRABS BASEBALL – HOODIE NIGHT!
6:30P, Wear your favorite Crabs hoody and get down to Arcata Ball Park for a good game of ball! Gates are at 5:30. Grab your tickets in advance at Wildberries.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST
8-11A, Head to the Freshwater Grange and enjoy pancakes, sausage or ham, scrambled eggs, homemade apple compote and salsa. in our spacious main hall. 50% of the net proceeds will go to the Waterfront Recovery Services. There will also a Fine Art Quilt Raffle.
ARCATA VETERANS HALL JUNE BRUNCH
8A-1P, Grab a great brunch at the Arcata Veterans Memorial Building for a fun Summer kickoff! They’ll be serving up a variety of items including: eggs, pancakes, sausage (vegan options included), bacon, and tots. Complimentary coffee provided thanks to Kinetic Koffee. All are welcome! Proceeds go toward youth programs, veteran programs, and building utilities/maintenance.

BIRDING TOUR OF EEL RIVE ESTUARY PRESERVE

Humboldt County has a great rotation of weekly Comedy shows and karaoke nights if you want to get your fill of laughs and sweet moves… but, if you would rather satisfy your darker side this weekend, you’re in luck! Check out the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Ferndale Reparatory Theatre or Goth Night at Richard’s Goat.

JUST FOR KIDS
We know how important it is to stay active- and activated-during Summer break, so we just listed some great camps and workshops, just for kids, where they can get the chance to play ball with a member of the Humboldt Crabs, or even learn to write a song at the Unbound Writing Center! And, Sunday at the Discovery Museum is free from families to check out the new Benjamin Franklin Energy Exhibits.
