Garden season is certainly upon us and thanks to last week’s pass through daylight savings time – we get a little extra time to enjoy the Sun’s warmth. Most of us have plenty to keep us busy on a nice warm weekend, but there’s some other great opportunities to get outside with your community. Let’s do something that just might make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors and the land that we live on!

FRIDAY MARCH 18TH
HOLLOW PALM – DELL’ARTE
5P, This dynamic, visually arresting show features dance, Butoh, music and song to create a dramatic portrait of how individuals deal with the inexplicable paradoxes and dualities of life. Come join the students of Dell’Arte (The Carlo Theatre, Blue Lake) in this virtuosic devised theatrical performance!
THE CRAFTSMAN – AN ORIGINAL EUREKA STORY
6P Showtime (5P, doors)- The City of Eureka is hosting a free community red carpet event in celebration of the launch of the new Magnolia Network television series, “The Craftsman.”
The first two episodes of the new show, the official pre-release pilot, and the first official episode will be shown back-to-back followed by an on-stage Q&A interview with Humboldt Business owner and star of this feature, Eric Hollenbeck.

BIRDWALK AT WILDLIFE REFUGE
8:30-11A, Walk along the Shorebird Loop Trail where songbirds, raptors, waders, and water birds have been spending the winter. FOAM MARSH TOUR

NEW GARDEN INSTALLATION COMMUNITY WORKDAY – BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

EUREKA WATERFRONT BIRDING TOUR
9-11A, A free guided walk along the Eureka Waterfront Section of the Humboldt Bay Trail. Strolling along the waterfront on this relatively urban trail offers the potential to observe species abundance and diversity comparable to many more remote locations. It took a pandemic to make Humboldt nightlife come to a standstill, and we’re happy to report that all the best local venues for live music, comedy and other special events at bars, breweries and clubs are back and happening.
